![]() If you want to talk to me on a chat party on the PlayStation, my gamer-tag is SgtSnootful. If you want tips on certain aspects of flying, PM me. I don't have MEC set up since I don't play simulator. Note: If you want more details or if you need help changing certain options, PM me. View in Battle-Air(X-axis): R3 button + Left Stick: Up-Down View in Battle-Air(X-axis): R3 button + Left Stick: Left-Right Make sure the Y-axis isn't inverted and your view sensitivity is 0%. When it comes to throttle, you want a multiplier of 0.5 with relative control activated. Nonlinearity for these controls should be no less than 2.0. Any less and you are limiting the abilities of your aircraft. Note: For the pitch, yaw, and roll axis, the multiplier must be no less than 1. Anything more and the controls are too twitchy. Aside from default shortcuts, you can assign shortcuts for other actions - just check unassigned actions in Settings. Roll, pitch, and yaw sensitivity ALL need to be at 0%. These are only tank shortcuts in War Thunder. My options basically make your PS4 controller a Model Airplane controller. Now, enter the controls menu, select Realistic Controls at the top of the screen, and let's get to it. This may help some people, but I personally feel that it limits what I can do with my aircraft. ![]() People who use Mouse Aim and Simplified Controls aren't actually flying the aircraft because of the Virtual Instructor. Note: The only controls I use are Realistic Controls. If you have this problem, then this should help you out. It was confusing and made it very difficult to pilot the aircraft. I highly recommend everyone else try this setup, if only to see if it is part of the reason that I am having so much success. When I started on War Thunder PS4, I did not like the controls at all. ![]() War Thunder 2.7.0.71 War Thunder is a free-to-play, cross-platform MMO combat game for Windows, Linux, Mac and PlayStation 4 dedicated to military vehicles used in the World War II and the. The red circles show objects, in this case aircraft, and their approximate position within the set range. I haven't been wrong about 1st place yet. Anything more and the controls are too twitchy. It has gotten so ridiculous that sometimes, if I'm feeling particularly ballsy, I'll pull a Babe Ruth and actually call out not only the fact that I'm getting in 1st place, but also what my score will be down to the hundreds. I don't know if it is my skill, or my setup, or that 95% of tankers in War Thunder have the skill of a malnourished duck, but I come in first place on EVERY arcade match. This setup is VITAL for my success in tanks in War Thunder. I have them set up for gear down/gear up if I'm ever feeling brave enough to drive manual transmission in the tanks. ![]() And my mouse happens to have a wheel with tilt left/right functions that can be bound to keyboard keys. LT/right mouse for zoom/sniper mode, LB/left mouse to shoot, left stick button to select target (for radio reporting), left stick x axis for steering, left stick y axis for throttle/brake/reverse, DPAD left/up/right for ammo types 1,2,3, DPAD down for artillery, back button for fire suppression. Turns out, there aren't a whole lot of controls you need for tanking in WT - I have a bunch of buttons left over. This means that I can't use any of the buttons on the entire right half of the 360 controller, because it would mean taking my hand away from the aiming controls. So I figured out a way to use both the mouse for aiming in my right hand, and the controller for steering in my left hand. ![]() we concentrate on the setup of Flight Controls for:-XBOX Controller Thrus. FLIGHT HOTAS One joystick is compatible with the following Xbox Series XS. The Xbox 360 controller seemed like the best option, but it put me at a HUGE disadvantage in aiming. I wanted something analog so that I could steer more precisely than having to pulse-width-modulate my WSAD key presses, and also so that I could drive slow enough to fire on the move without having to brake and then wait for the suspension to settle. So I've got a pretty large selection of input devices for my PC, and I was trying to figure out what would be the best option for driving tanks. ![]()
